*Influenza vaccine (“flu shot”):
Influenza vaccine is always important to receive to reduce the risk of getting sick with influenza, reduce the severity of disease if one does get sick (including the risk of hospitalization) due to influenza, as well as preventing the spread of influenza to others. During the COVID-19 pandemic, influenza vaccine will be especially critical to reduce the overall impact of respiratory illness on the population, protect vulnerable populations from severe illness, and decrease the overall burden on the healthcare system

- All 7th grade students need to have a physical exam from 2020-2021 school year on file in the nurse’s office
- All 7th grade students need to have the Tdap, MCV and flu vaccine*
- All 6th and 8th grade students need to have the flu vaccine*
- Physical exams and immunizations are required regardless of whether the district is providing instruction in-person, or using a hybrid or remote learning model

- Must be received by December 31st, 2020
- Required even if learning remote, hybrid or in-person
- Medical & religious exemptions are allowable in Massachusetts
- Nasal or injectable vaccine types are allowed
- The usual yearly required screenings have been waived at this time due to COVID-19.
