The "Eureka!' Program from Girls Inc.
What is the ‘Eureka!’ Program?
Eureka! is a 5-year STEM, college and career readiness program that works with teens all around the Western MA area. Please refer to "5-Years of Eureka!" flyer for more information.
Who are we looking for?
Due to COVID19, last year we recruited a smaller than usual rookie class. Therefore, this year, we are looking for applications from students currently in the 7th and 8th grade.
We are looking for students who show an interest in STEM, college, or learning new things in general— or at least are interested in exploring those options. Applicants should be curious and willing to be hands-on; as well as open to meeting other like-minded teens from Western MA.

Dip Your Toe in Code
Good Morning JFK Parents and Families,
I hope that this message finds you well. I just wanted to share a free opportunity with Mr. Moreinis ("Mr. M") a STEAM teacher at Lyceum Prep (ne Chestnut) and teaches programming and computer science classes.
He is offering grades 6-10 students the opportunity to learn how to code/program via "Dip Your Toe in Code".
The course starts on February 8th.
Coding is hard, it takes proof reading and tracking. His classes are accessible and fun, but coding (like chess and Sudoku) requires skill and focus.
On the other hand, starting out young builds competitive skills for college and career. This path also offers scholarships and job offers if continuing on. When good at it and in career path you can make upwards of $100 an hour when you get good at it.
Please click this link if you are interested in learning more and click orange box to "sign up now".
